Get enthused, get motivated, and hone your horticultural skills with these top selling gardening books.

The weather in Boston today is, in a word, cold. Bone-chilling cold. The fact that it is nearly May makes the shivering really hard to take so now is probably a good time to lapse into gardening mode and daydream a little. While you are wrapped in flannel by the fire waiting for your toes to thaw, try a new garden book to get the juices flowing.

According to Amazon.com sales records, the five top selling garden books currently are:

  1. All New Square Food Gardening by Mel Bartholomew
  2. The $64 Tomato: How One Man Nearly Lost His Sanity, Spent a Fortune, and Endured an Existential Crisis in the Quest for a Perfect Garden by William Alexander
  3. Western Garden Book by Kathleen Norris Benzel
  4. The Organic Gardener's Handbook of Natural Insect and Disease Control edited by Barbara W. Ellis and Fern Marshall Bradley
  5. Front Yard and Back Yard Idea Book by Jeni Webber and Lee Ann White
